JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work on a wide range of business services compliance activities as allocated by Workflow
- Manage the priorities of a large client list, across a range of industries
- Handle the compliance requirements of clients with complex structures and tax Arrangements
- Coach, develop and review the work of junior accounting staff in relation to service, process and technical matters
- Work closely with the Management team to understand any technical or process issues relating to their team and assist team to resolve
- Identify and report any HR issues
RELATIONSHIPS AND AUTHORITY:
- For each of the following tasks, the Senior Accountant reports to the corresponding person:
- Overall performance and accountability AHBA Outsourcing Manager
- Specific jobs and clients AHBA team Client Manager
- Career development AHHR
- Identifying and reporting any HR issues relating to team ASW/AHHR
- Lead and coach the team regarding workflow and technical Matters
- Work closely with the Workflow Manager/AHBA team Client Manager to understand any technical or process issues relating to the team and assist team members to resolve
TASKS:
- Complete complex partnership, company and trust accounts & individual tax Returns
- Complete large business groups (multiple entities)
- Complete complex BAS returns
- Respond promptly to queries
- Schedule own work and manage workflow
- Manage WIP
- Review own work and the work of others for accuracy and completeness, with minimal review points for managing accountant/Client Manager/Partner
- Conduct comparative job reviews where applicable
- Identify technical and client issues in regards service
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of AU compliance environment
- ATO requirements, ASIC & OSR
- Proactively manage workflow and identify and communicate possible issues before they occur · Provide on the job training and mentoring to junior staff members
- Seek input from others on significant issues and contentious / grey areas
